Pa anglieskie, paszjalsta!

Aangezien Marilène zich afvroeg of de tijd die ik hier spendeer ook nog iets voor mijn Engels doet, zal ik de rest van deze entry maar in het Engels posten :P

It's still about 31 degrees over here (and has been for the past couple of months...or so I've been told), so yesterday a couple of us went to the beach again. You all know how much I love feeling like a turkey roasting in the oven, right? ;) There are 2 main beaches or beach areas in Fort Lauderdale: one of them, the Galt Ocean Mile, is pretty close to the school (about 10 minutes by bus) and the other is more downtown near Las Olas and the A1A (featured in the 'Ice Ice Baby' song by 'the Great White Hope' Vanilla Ice). The latter beach is nicer with volleyball nets and more palm trees, but it's about 40 minutes from the school by bus and since the one at Galt is pretty good too we usually go there. Hey, it's a beach with sand, palm trees, and ocean, what more do you need, right? :D

Anyway, I think we only stayed at the beach for a couple of hours and I didn't even go for a swim this time, but it was pretty nice anyway. At around 8:15PM we gathered at the language center to go out for drinks that evening. First, we wanted to go to this Polynesian place called Mai-Kai where you can drink beer from a coconut, but someone from the FLC told us that it's a high-priced restaurant and none of us really felt like paying 6 dollars for a Coke, so we (Pavlina, Monica, Anne, Sandra-1, Stefan-2, Steffen, Patrick, Tomas, and yours truly) ended up going to the Aruba Beach Inn at the end of the Galt Ocean Mile. We stayed until around 10:30PM I think, walked along the beach for a little while, took some pictures, climbed a palm tree (did I say that out loud? :P) and then we went back to the FLC where I'd parked my bike.

Tonight there's a bowling contest organized by the school. Some of us are going to participate (like Eddy, Anne, and Patrick), but Sandra-2, Alex, Steffen and me...we decided just to go watch them bowl...and have more drinks! Yay!! More about that tomorrow ofcourse! Tevreden, Marilène? :D

P.S. 'Pa anglieskie, paszjalsta!' = 'In het Engels, aub!' op z'n Russisch
P.P.S. Alhoewel het nu lijkt alsof ik een enorme zatlap ben met mijn 'drinks', weten jullie natuurlijk wel beter...
:P
